Our Challenge
As a Java Developer, Candidate will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to work on complex technical requirements. Candidate will be responsible for managing multiple engagements, prioritize and resolve complex problems and escalate as necessary, in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $90k - $120K/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable Java applications for commodity or capital markets.
- Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Implement trading algorithms, risk management tools, and other financial applications.
- Optimize application performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
- Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to maintain high-quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing applications and enhance their functionality as needed.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing and best practices.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement in software development processes.
Requirements:
You are:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Java development with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
- Proven experience in financial services, specifically in commodity or capital markets.
- Proficiency in frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, or similar.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Strong understanding of relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and experience with NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and event-driven architectures.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and version control systems (Git).
